TekSavvy or Acanac internet? Which do you like better?

I'll be leaving Rogers by the end of the month and I need a new cable ISP provider. I've been looking to switch to Teksavvy Extreme Cable Pro, but after seeing Acanac, seems like they have a better deal for their unlimited package. I do not mind paying upfront for their service but I just don't want a bad experience. Also, do some areas receive faster speeds then others? (currently north of Scarborough right now).

Should I switch to Teksavvy or Acanac? Which company has better customer support? No downtime, no throttling?

Many have said Teksavvy...without any question.

But a Reviewer said;
I've had Acanac Cable for a few weeks and the only issue I had was Rogers pushed the install date by a day (and I didn't know this until they called on the day of the original install). Since then speeds have been great for my area (DVP/Eglinton). Speeds do seem to vary by location for both Acanac and
Teksavvy. Acanac did do some upgrades in late March that seems to have fixed congestion issues in most areas in the GTA (some in Mississauga are still having issues) and Ottawa still has to be fixed. I believe Teksavvy is having some congestion issues in parts of North York and Scarborough, but have a ticket into Rogers for some upgrades - this has been pushed a few times.

The overall consensus on this site and others seems to be that Teksavvy  has the better customer service. If you have to deal with Acanac for billing issues it's only done via an email/ticket system and it can take a few business days for them to respond, but I had Acanac for all of last year for DSL and have had them for a few weeks of cable and haven't had any major issues with this - there was a minor error (last year they charged me for a DSL modem when I provided my own), but they corrected this a few days after I sent an email. I went with them because I read they had performed upgrades in my area, it was cheaper when I paid for a year and the referral program is better (one month free for every referral and you're supposed to have free internet if you get to 10 referrals). So far, I don't regret my decision.

Thanks for your responses,
Wow!!
I tried signing up for the TekSavvy Extreme Cable Pro, and they keep telling me
"Due to explosive growth we are currently not signing up new customers for your area.
If you would like an email notification sent when it is available please click here."
(This message didn't appear when I tried signing up 2 days ago, but they were asking for a cancellation date, which I did not have at the time so I decided to wait one more day to call Rogers and cancel.)

I called them today, and they told me now I have to wait because there's a big demand in my area for TekSavvy cable since it was just introduced and they can't handle all the customers at once.
Never heard of anything like this happening before. Guess I'll have to push back the cancellation date with Rogers.
Now I have to wait a couple days or even weeks.

You're lucky you didn't sign up earlier then because that means there's congestion in your area and you'd get terrible peak time speeds. Now, Teksavvy has requested upgrades from Rogers and they're supposed to be completed in the near future (as early as this week), but Rogers has delayed these upgrades serveral times. I was on the fence between Teksavvy and Acanac as well, but chose Acanac for the reasons listed in my previous post. I see that my postal code now produces the same message you received, but it wasn't producing that message a few weeks ago. I know Acanac had similar congestion issues (and also prevented new sign ups in congested areas) as well and had the same issues with Rogers delaying upgrades (and are still having them for the Ottawa region), but most of the GTA was upraded so you'll probably be able to sign up with them.

I've also been reading that while Teksavvy is known for great customer service they're still at the mercy of Rogers for installation and activation issues (not much difference between them and Acanac there) and the wait times for support can be long because they've been growing rapidly and haven't hired enough additional staff yet
